Eleanor Scott-Brandt, 4, sneaks a taste of her hot chocolate while sitting with her mother, Sarah Scott, in The Sparrows Coffee Tea and Newsstand Sunday afternoon.  Eleanor is going to be batgirl for Halloween, but was perfectly content calling herself a puppy for the day while at the coffee shop.

Danielle Eckly, 18, and Gibson Kranja, 22 sit outside Grand Rapids Community College in between classes Thursday afternoon.  Gibson just moved here from Kenya eight months ago, and the couple have been dating for three months.  Danielle told me that they met in the computer lab at school.  And they are totally smitten by each other.
“I love her so much,” says Gibson, “but she already knows that.  At least, she better…”
